The EndingCOVID team vehemently condemns and denounces the actions that directly contributed to the tragic death of Tyre Nichols. While stark disparities exist with regard to racial injustice in our country, police brutality cannot be simply distilled to an issue of race. Police brutality is a pressing issue that has led to life-changing injuries and life-ending consequences for countless lives, with those who identify with marginalized groups and systemically discriminated populations being the most impacted. In the fight against racism, we must acknowledge the intersection at which police brutality exists and take an active role in redirecting political divisiveness to actionable change.
